About me

“For me, photography as an artform is less about nailing technical perfection and more about confidence, connection and allowing space for the subject to breathe.”

Bio

A footy loving kid from a small town in Northamptonshire, moving to vibrant Hackney East London in my twenties really set my love of photography alight. I’ve since established a fast-paced career shooting talent across multiple industries, Fashion, Music, TV and Sport. My work is committed to storytelling through a lens, whether capturing high profile subjects or the unsung stars of the London community.

My background in portraiture allows me to really see my subjects, I’m dedicated to capturing authenticity through my candid work. I thrive behind the scenes, always seeking to frame the emotion. My unobtrusive and considered approach allows me closer to my subjects whether that be A list celebrities, members of the Royal Family or everyday people.

“It’s immensely important to me, to showcase not only current talent but those that have paved the way to where we are today - retired athletes inspiring the next generation of trail blazers.”

Background

After completing a Graphic Design degree I embarked on a round-the-world solo adventure with my Dads Olympus AF10 and a bag of film. There were many moments on this trip where I felt truly alive and wanted to share what I was experiencing using my camera. Once I landed back in the UK, I began assisting at an editorial portrait studio, gaining invaluable experience working with people, honing technical skills, and developing an eye for composition.

I later took the leap into freelance, entering into the world of beauty and fashion, photographing in-store demos, openings, launches and activations, for renowned brands like Estée Lauder and Bobbi Brown. This fast-paced work sent me to the catwalk where I discovered a love of capturing the energy backstage at fashion shows. Documenting candid moments and the unfiltered side of the industry became my signature.

My candid approach to shooting led to collaborations with Warner Records, capturing iconic moments at the Brit Awards, shooting artists like Due Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Courtney Cox and Brooklyn Beckham.

When I was commissioned by Madame Tussauds, to capture soon-to-be waxwork icons, my technical eye for portraiture really came into its own. I learned to master the unique skill of shooting people from every conceivable angle, in tiny increments, immaculately and up close. This work flew me to international stages capturing talent such as Will.I.am, Tim McGraw, Lewis Hamilton and Victoria Secrets model Alessandra Ambrosio.

While immersed in the airbrushed glamour of the entertainment industry, I began capturing the unfiltered side of high profile subjects, and my authentic portraits soon caught the attention of Thames productions. I shot behind the scenes for popular entertainment shows like The X-Factor, the pilot show of The Greatest Dancer and I’ve been shooting for Britain Got Talent for the last 8 years.

Joining a grassroots 5 a side team in 2016 marked a pivotal moment in my career, reconnecting with my love for the game and naturally my camera came everywhere too. My style and warm approach caught the attention of brands like Barclays and Visa and I soon began working alongside talent within the Women's Super League, Championship League and The Lionesses.

It’s immensely important to me, to showcase not only current talent but those that have paved the way to where we are today - retired athletes inspiring the next generation of trail blazers. I love working at the intersection of action and portraiture within sports photography, and my approach gained the trust and respect of the Lionesses as I began shooting them both on and off the pitch. My camera as an art form is allowing me to continually document the incredible Rise of Women's Football and this new found era of respect and applause for Women in both Sport and Business. It’s a real honour to capture that huge cultural shift.

In recent years I’ve felt driven to work on more purposeful projects, seeking out opportunities with social impact and projects with strong, striving women at their centre. Collaborating with causes like Refuge, Ida, Rise 365, and most recently Bloomsbury Football.

With a restless fire in my belly, my work continues to expand beyond shooting talent, I now regularly capture the untold stories of individuals and communities, forming genuine relationships with like minded people. I'm on a mission to unveil the unsung narratives that go beyond the photo. I always want to work with the best of the best including everyday people whose stories shine bright, away from any limelight. I can’t help but gravitate towards people at the top of their game or those with an innate passion to get to the top and reach their goals.

My work has been featured in The Independent, Vanity Fair, The Evening Standard and Red Bull Bulletin.

“My personable approach means I operate with a sensitivity, purpose and bravery using my art form as a voice hopefully helping to create extended visibility and influence positive social and cultural change.”
